Thomas the Train Adventure

While me and Nana were doing kindergarten graduation, David & Papa were in Heber Valley visiting Thomas the Tank Engine. According to reports...Sam and Ben had a fabulous time. I wish i could have been there, but until they figure out how to split moms in half, i have to be thankful to my sweet husband and family to help me out!

Kindergarten Graduation

My baby is growing up! I can't believe he is done with kindergarten already! It was just yesterday i sent him for his first day! They did such a good job with their program i am so proud of him! I love how in this top picture he is being such a gentleman and helping his friend Faith ito the bucket!

What a crazy week we've had. I'm so glad it's over and it is the Sabbath. I truly enjoy the relaxation that the Sabbath brings. I love being able to reflect on the past week and how things went. The FUN we had and how we could do things better next time! Thursday was great! i finaly got the kitchen painting finished! I think it looks great and wonder why it took so long to get this color up! I kept my blue door because i love the pop of color it brings in. David got the arch done and i got it all painted. it looks fabulous. He did a great job, but all he sees are the imperfections. but he did great for never having put one up before! Now all we have left are to stain the cabinets and get the new countertops in. I got three bids on Friday for the countertops. All a lot less than i thought. But thats great! Who wants to spend more money??? I definately don't want to put much more into this house since we won't be here much longer. Anyway, so I can't wait till that gets done. That afternoon i had Activity Days, we taught the girls knot tying & emergency person carrying positions. They had a lot of fun, especially when it came time to run the relay's. Friday proved to be one of the more quiet days. I spent the day at home waiting for all the guys to come place bids for the countertops, so i was able to get a lot of housework done! That night was Thomas' school carnival. The 5k went off without a hitch, but when it was time to start the carnival, we got a down pour of rain. so we rescheduled for the last day of school. I can't wait, it will be a fun time! Saturday started early. Right after breakfast david and i started moving furniture. We got the boys a bunk bed a week ago and that set off a chain reaction of furniture moving. So we moved the t.v. armoire and couch we upstairs to the down stairs. moved the couch, loveseat, and t.v. cabinet from downstairs to the upstairs. we moved tom & sams' old beds down to the basement bedroom and moved the double mattress that was down there into the boys room since the bottom bunk is a double bed. Needless to say by the end, our backs really hurt. In the middle of that though David had to stop and take tom to soccer. sam went with him and i stayed with ben while he napped. when they got back it was then time to get everything in order for company that night. We were taking part in our ward activity, "Guess who's coming to dinner?" It is a lot of fun and we hosted this year. While the house was a wreck i was thinking to myself how in the world am i gonna get this house ready by 6:30. But it all worked out. We had dinner on the table and ready for company. We had a great time when our guests showed up. We love the visiting and socializing we recieve from our friends in this ward. they are truly wonderful people. They are the reason we will never leave this neighborhood! (Unless we are prompted in another direction, then we will follow of course!) Anyway, it was also a very nice night since davids folks were able to join us. It has been so nice having them in town. the boys really enjoy seeing them and getting to know them. As for now, i am spending my Sabbath relaxing and enjoying the beautiful day! I'm gonna put some pics up of the finished room changes. And my little turkeys!

Beautiful Day After All

It started out rainy and dreary this morning, getting out of bed was hard. But once i finaly did, i got quite a bit done. Half the kitchen is painted, just the big walls are left, but they will go fast. i'll post a pic when i get it all done. i'm gonna be up late tonight getting it primed so when mandy watches the boys tommorow i can get 1 coat up and then another that night. I'd like to have it all done by saturday since we are hosting "guess who's coming to dinner" but, we'll see. I had my first PTA meeting this afternoon. it was the final for the year, but next month we will have another and for the new leadership to get their ducks in a row. i will be the secretary next year. that should be intresting since i have no idea what i'm doing. i'm sure my experience serving in presidences at church will help, but the whole school thing will be all new. it felt very weird at the end of the meeting today when a "motion" was made to close the meeting instead of a closing prayer. so that will take a little getting used to. but i'm really looking forward to it. i think i will enjoy being more involved at school. i already volunteer every other tuesday in toms class, but this will give me insight into whats going on behind the scenes. so that will be good. i did tell david that i thought it would probably feel a bit more like a 3rd calling, but well worth it! This evening was great! The sun came out this afternoon and dried things up. David and i mowed the lawn and got things cleaned up a little. I had to go out and enjoy my flowers, my iris are beautiful now. but as the sun lowers in the sky i am reminded of my motherly duties to get my boys in the bathtub and into bed. Good night all.

So, here i am on the web. This is definately somthing i thought i'd never do, but i guess it is a good way for the grandparents and family to see whats going on...if they even get bored enough to visit this blog. but i guess mostly this is for me, i think i will enjoy getting my thoughts out at the end of the day. i'm so terrible at writing in my journal, so maybe this will take its place.

Again this is just somthing simple, i hope you enjoy the sneak peek into the crazy life i live...

It was hard getting back into the swing of things today. DH and I spent the weekend downtown alone in a fabulous hotel (The Peery Hotel)while Grandma & Grandpa watched the kids. It was a well needed break that we loved! We enjoyed the eating out and not worrying that our kids were too loud, or that we had to get up in the middle of our dinner to take one of them to the potty! But back to reality. Today was a little out of the ordinary. Mom and Dad came to visit for a few days before they flew out of town to head to New York. DH got up early to take them to the airport and then went straight into work. The boys were up bright and early so morning routine went the same. but then it was time to take S to the dentist. He did so good! NO CAVITIES!!! Then off to register him for preschool. That was an adventure trying to find that building. They changed offices so it was quite the quest to find the new office. When that chore was done the boys were ready for some play time. We stopped at Arctic Circle and they played like crazy! It was raining all day so they were especially stir crazy. T had kindergarten testing at 3:30 so we went and did that. His teacher said he passed everything with flying colors. I'm so proud of him. I can't believe how quickly he is growing. i'm in serious denial that he is going into first grade next year. i'm not sure i can handle him being gone all day from me! Little B did such a good job just tagging along. he is such a good boy and just goes with the flow. Right now DH is busy sanding our new arch connecting the livingroom to the kitchen. We are doing a few renovations this summer and this is one. He is almost done, and i will be so glad, the sanding makes a huge mess in the house! But it will look great when its done. That is his job, while i am busy painting the kitchen. i've almost got it fully primed, then onto painting. Staining the cabinet will come next, i'm very excited for that. it has taken me forever to finaly decide what i wanted to do with them. well hope you like the picture of DH. And hopefully my entries don't put you to sleep.
